Ace Aquatec was formed in December 1999 when its founder, John Ace-Hopkins, bought the Aquaculture interests from Thomson-Marconi.

The company developed the Silent Scrammer range of seal scarers in 2001: the silent scrammer is an acoustic deterrent designed to deter predators from attacking fish farms. Our Marine Mammal Deterrents are widely used by offshore industries to usher marine mammals to a safe distance prior to any potentially harmful underwater operations (e.g. impulsive noises or demolitions)

In 2003 Ace Aquatec launched the world's first high speed humane electric stunner. It is estimated that this machine stuns/kills over 85% of UK trout production. Ace Aquatec developed the HS2 in 2007 to deal with marine species and launched the HS3 in 2008 for flat fish.

Ace Aquatec continues to innovate and justifiably claim to be one of the world leaders in seal scaring and humane slaughter technologies.
